I selected Gill Thomas as my Personal Trainer approximately 3 years ago. To get me toned up and trim for my daughters' wedding. I also had a back problem due to a car accident some years previously, which made doing simple household duties such as pushing a Hoover a real challenge.

 

Gill is always flexible and willing to work around my work commitments. The workouts are varied and different using different methods of resistance exercises as well as core strengthening and cardio.

 

I felt a million dollars at my daughters' wedding and my back issues are greatly improved.

 

 

I recently had to have a small operation where doctors remarked on my good muscle tone and my quick recovery; I attribute this to my twice weekly workout with Gill

After Christmas 2009 I reached the heaviest weight I had ever reached and I needed to take action. I decided to cancel my gym membership (as I never went!) and spend the money on a personal trainer instead. I contacted Gill Thomas, which was the most positive move I have ever made with regards to improving my health. 

 

 
I decided that I would like to start running. Gill ran with me, teaching me about breathing techniques and setting goals for myself. I was surprised at how much I began to enjoy it, and at how much further I could run over time. I now have the confidence and energy to go for a run after work a couple of times a week. I am also entering Race for Life later this year - a 5k event which is something I never previously dreamed I would be capable of.


 

Gill now works with me on improving my muscle tone using weights and resistance techniques - it's tough but I really enjoy it and the results are visible. She has also helped me to prepare and stick to a healthy vegetarian diet, and my weight is coming down gradually and staying off. Gill has supported, encouraged and educated me throughout the past 14 months and I am happy to recommend her.

Gill was recommended to me by a neighbour, when I commented on how toned she looked.

 

 

I already had good cardio fitness when I started training with Gill; I employed Gill to improve my strength, tone and core fitness.

 

 

Gill has done all this and more, she has even got me running something I never thought I would do.

 

I have completed several 10k runs and the Great North half Marathon spurred on by Gill.

 

 

As a busy business woman I find Gill is flexible and will work around my work pattern, the running and resistance work has helped my stress levels as well as improving my muscle to fat ratio.

Having spent 3 months now working with Gill in the gym, I have seen a marked improvement in my level of general fitness. Gill discussed my goals with me before we started, and devised three separate workout programmes for me to follow on my own - Upper Body, Lower Body and a Whole Body programme. These enabled me to work independently between our regular sessions and ensure I concentrate on the correct exercises to achieve my goals, while still being able to vary my workouts.

 

During our sessions together, Gill introduced new apparatus - Swiss Ball, Free Weights and use of Gym machines to keep the sessions fun and varied - it is never boring! Gill encourages me to push myself that bit harder each time and is supportive throughout our workouts - she combines with the user of weights to work all muscle groups - and most importantly we have a lot of fun which encourages me to work harder still!

I came back to Fitness First after a four year break, with very little confidence and having lost a significant amount of weight. After a chat with the staff I was directed to Gillian as my personal trainer.

 

That was a couple of months ago. Since working with Gill, I have gained confidence, lost more weight, toned up and also relaxed in an environment I didn't know I could feel relaxed in. She is approachable and helpful and is excellent at knowing just how much further to push me. She took it at my own pace and is a great motivator in the right way.

 

I can say she has done an amazing thing for my personality, as well as my stamina. I am more outgoing and seek that extra push (all with it being Gills voice in the back of my head telling me just an extra one). She is an amazing person who has helped me make changes in my life I didn't know needed changing.

I selected Gill Thomas as my personal trainer one year ago. In that time I have lost over half a stone & my fitness level has soared. I selected Gill because she had all the necessary professional qualifications and she was prepared to be flexible around my own varying work commitments.

 

 

I have not been disappointed and I have been struck by how innovative she is in making sure that stuck to my task. It's been hard work but worth every drop of sweat! At 48 years of age and running my own company I only wish I had done something like this years ago. When I go through an hour's vigorous workout with Gill early in the morning it sets me up for the day my energy & concentration levels are both much higher.

 

Certainly when I was the MD of an 80M turnover manufacturing business in the aerospace sector, the programme of exercise I now undertake regularly would have helped me cope much better with stress and made me a much better boss. Having wrestled for many years in corporate life with problematic levels of employee absenteeism I now also recognise how valuable such a programme would be in helping to ensure that people are at work when they need to be.

Hi my name is Trevor. I am 57 Years old and have been training with Gill three times a week for the last year. I met Gill when I changed from the gym that I had been going to for a number of years, and where I managed to train myself up from 12.5 stone, to very nearly 18 stone not the cleverest thing that I have ever done?.

 

The main problem was, I had major spinal surgery 17 years ago, and a triple major heart bypass some 7years ago and that makes it very difficult for any trainer to work with me. That is where I have been very lucky because I had the good fortune to meet my personal trainer Gillian Thomas.

 

 

Gill is a very highly qualified personal trainer who is qualified to work with G.P. Referrals that is people that have medical problems and need special care and training. In the time that I have been training with Gill we have had a lot of good laughs and I am really enjoying the training, it's not easy but it can be fun and most important I have lost 2+ stones in weight and about 16% in body fat which means that I am building up my muscles and gaining strength and that is what makes it all worthwhile.
